This Week's Horror Pick: Pyewacket

This is an under the radar horror gem that does not disappoint. Originally released back in 2017 and now on Hulu! *For how long, who knows*

This film is about a Mother/Daughter who's relationship has become strained since the passing of their Husband/Father. The mother can no longer take living in the house so they move to a different town and this of course, destroys the teen daughters life. As their relationship gets worse, the daughter takes things WAY too far, and s*** goes downhill FAST.

As you can see in these shots, neither one looks like a happy camper and you feel the tension in the air quick. It's quite uncomfortable how the relationship is captured.
This particular scene is what made me go, "That's a bit much isn't it?" Funny enough, another character says the same thing later lol.

This film is shot excellently! Not one wasted frame on screen. Angle choices to the camera movement do a great job of setting the mood from the jump.

LOVE this shot. It'll make much more sense when you see the movie.
Great way to block with a natural environment.
Spectacular shot. Always a fan of merging opposite views in a reflection if its meaningful (most films it isn't) or just simply looks cool.
The creep factor in this movie is is dialed up as soon as a certain event takes place. The film doesn't rely on jump scares it moreso uses tension to continually build the suspense.

Not a spoiler
This s*** is creepy fam.
There are far more creepy frames of the film I could share but I'd rather you see those in motion. Not to mention the use of sound adds to the unsettling situations.

If you're a horror head, make sure to check this one out.

Thanks for reading!
