Halloween Kills Favorite shots + Trailer Reaction
What's good everyone?! Anyone who knows me knows Halloween 78' is one of my favorite films of all time & the franchise is easily one of my favorites ever. There isn't a film in the series I don't like & with that being said, The official "Halloween Kills," trailer has lived rent free in my head since it was released. So I figured, why not talk about my favorite shots from the trailer!
Y'all ready?
First thing's first, check out my trailer reaction if you haven't already.
Now let's get into the shots!
This opening shot of him walking out of the burning house is pure cinematic art. This is one of the most Michael Myers shots in the franchise. He's ready to go to work with that axe.
This film seems to have definitely upped the cinematography. The 2018 film didn't necessarily have weak cinematography but nothing was particularly that memorable (for me). A shot this simple says a lot! You KNOW the firefighter is f***ed as a member of the audience but you can also tell dude is not aware of what's about to happen because he hasn't lived with Michael as much as we have since this one and the last film only connect to 78'.
Loomis didn't call him, "The Shape," for no reason. I love that this whole attack is silhouetted as a nod to that idea.
Michael Myers and Fire is just a mood lol. No deep dive here, these shots just look so dope to me.
Love the color blocking of this shot. I don't think this is Michael. I've never seen him wash his hands so I'm assuming it's not him and if it isn't, who is this? That's a lot of blood. Amazing how a single shot creates so many questions. Guessing its Laurie.
Love these Easter eggs in regards to Hallowen 3: Season of the Witch. I hope they continue this trend of leaving call backs throughout the film like the 2018 version. If you didn't know, there's at least one reference to each of the films of the franchise, in the 18' flick.
More silhouettes to amplify the, "shape." Also, I'm now understanding the strange obsession over the mask. It appears that they're building a new lore for the franchise that centers around the masks "energy," and how it affects Michael or someone who wears it. Not sure if it'll work or not but I'm down to see!
It's sis' turn to wield the iconic murder weapon her brother uses. Love the parallel btw the 2. Its identical to how Michael carries the knife.
There we have it! Before this trailer, I was hype for this movie off the fact that it's a new entry in the franchise but I can't lie; I had no clue what to expect because of the issues I had with its predecessor. When this trailer hit, all of my worry went away and this jumped up to my most anticipated for the remainder of the year. What did you think of the trailer and were there any shots I missed? Thanks for reading!
